Happy Friday! Hope you had a good week; it was a pretty uneventful one for me with far too much rain and not enough bike riding. Today is the start of the next story in Deadmen and Poodleskirts. You can check it out right here.
Here are today’s random links:
The 10 Strangest G1 Transformers Episodes – Hey remember that episode where SeaSpray gets turned into a guy with robot feet? Yeah, that’s on this list. Surprisingly though, it’s not even number one. (Topless Robot)
Lando’s Love Lessons – Looking for love? Let Lando teach you all the moves you’ll need the next time you find yourself in a Mos Eisley space bar and the dancing girl of your dreams walks in. (Ego TV)
So here’s a fun fact I learned last week at the convention. When properly motivated, Daniel does a heck of an Axel Rose impression. Who knew? Anyways… The newest page for Shaman is out and you can read it right….. Here. Now on to the web comics.
Saints and Warlords – Written by Steven Lindsay (the dude behind the awesome “Jesus Hates Zombies, Lincoln Hates Werewolves” series… a book you should totally check out if you haven’t already) Illustrated by Mark Slater and coloured by Alex Alderete S&W is dark and gritty and bloody and… well cool as hell. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to ruin anything, but it’s a really fun ride.
Misery Loves Sherman – My son loves everything and anything done byChris Eliopoulos and it’s not hard to see why. I was first introduced to Chris’s work from his work on “Franklin Richards Son of a Genius” (my son’s favorite comic in the whole world) a fun (and funny) Calvin and Hobbs meets the Fantastic Four type of book. In Misery Loves Sherman, Chris creates his own cute and extremely funny world revolving around Sherman, a young boy living with a couple of Aliens (the extra terrestrial kind) in his closet and who is repeatedly tormented by his “loving” sister. Just a great comic.
That’s it for this week. Again, if you have a comic to recommend or you’d like to talk about these titles just head over to the message board and… well… leave a message.
Happy Good Friday everyone. The new Deadmen is up. Click here to check it out.
It’s been a bit of a short week for me, after taking Monday off to have my traditional ‘convention recovery’ day I got sick on Tuesday… So yeah… Strange week. Anyways here’s some cool links that I’ve found this week.
Hey guys, welcome to a new feature here, Wednesday Web Comics. Basically every Wednesday I’m gonna share a couple of links with you guys to some awesome web comics. Easy peasy.
First I just wanted to remind you that this weeks page from Celtic Shaman page is up and you can read it here. Secondly I wanted to let everyone who participated in our “Name our Mascot” contest at the convention that we’ve narrowed it down to 2 or 3 so I’ll be making an announcement about the winner very soon.
Now on to the comics. This week I’ve picked two of my favorites.
Doctor McNinja – Doctor McNinja is a Doctor who is also a ninja. I have to be honest with you. This is one of my favourite comics period. The humor is so my style that I was hooked right away. I picked up the first trade from writer/artist Christopher Hastings at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival a while back and I’ve been a fan ever since. It’s the perfect combination of action and humor.
In His Likeness – The first time I read IHL, it spoiled the end of the Harry Potter book I was reading. But I quickly got over that. Using simple effective visuals IHL is both clever and funny without being overly-controversial for the sake of being overly controversial (a tricky task given the subject matter in today’s society) plus creator James Hatton is a pretty cool dude.
That’s it for this week. If you know of a web comic that you think I’d like, send me an e-mail or leave me a message in our forums.

Well the first Wizard World Toronto Comic Con has come and gone and I want to thank everyone who stopped by to see us. As usual we had a lot of fun, met a lot of cool people (people like my facebook friend Jeffrey Allan Boman from The Original Universe Fanzine) and got to talk comics all weekend long. Can’t beat that.
I also want to thank the organizers and volunteers of the show. They treated us really well and were always around whenever we needed them.
Overall I think the show went pretty well. There was a little drama on Saturday when someone decided it would be fun to set off the fire alarm, but after we all got back inside everything went pretty smoothly. The guys did a lot of drawing, I did a lot of talking and even “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan stopped by the table a couple of times to see Jason.
We also got to hang out with some cool comic creators as well, creators like Phil McClorey from Furious Comics, Shane Heron from Awesome Marcus Ninja, and from Lezley Davidson from Peeling Onions. They are all very talented and they all have awesome comics. I hope you get a chance to check them out.
Our next appearance will be on Free Comic Book day at Image Collections. Todd and the guys always work really hard to make the day a lot of fun so I hope you get a chance to stop by.
Thanks again everyone. If you saw us at the show drop me a line and tell me what you thought of it, or leave a message over at the forum.

One weekend when I was a kid, my friends and I decided to rent and watch all of the Friday the 13th movies back to back (I think there were 5 of them at the time. For some reason I always liked Jason. Freddy was funny, Michael Myers was creepy, but Jason just got the job done… no screwing around, plus the guy wore a hockey mask FTW!)
After having been sufficiently freaked out I returned home the next day and turned on Sunday afternoon WWF wrestling (as was the style at the time) and what did I see? Two dudes wearing hockey masks, or as they are better known, Ax and Smash, the Demolition. I almost lost my sh*t…
So why am I telling you this? Well just to remind you that we’ll be at the Toronto Comic Con March 26-28 with a lot of cool guests including (wait for it) Ax and Smash…. How cool is that?
Anyways I hope you are enjoying the new site. If you have any comments or suggestions drop me a line cmcquaid@mchozers.com or post a comment on our message board.

From the team that brought you Agent comes an all new action comedy “Chase Stone: Small Claims Bounty Hunter.”
Harper Stienkmen is on the run. Relentlessly pursued by a ruthless figure for the past three states, it seems everywhere he turns a modified 1987 Buick Grand National stalks him.
Stienkmen knows the only thing that will end this torment, the only thing that will appease his pursuer, is collecting the price on his head…
150 dollars.
Bail bondsman Chase Stone lives his life by one code: if you run, you’re money in the bank. No price too big, no reward too small.
A leather jacket, dark sunglasses and some Texas-based boogie and blues are all the company Chase Stone needs as he hunts down some of America’s “least” wanted men. Other bounty hunters may get the glory, Chase Stone gets results.
